Type 4B Sales Tax Funds

Type 4B sales tax provides cities with a wide range of uses for the tax revenues for economic development projects that will improve the quality of life, and projects that will attract and retain primary employers. Examples of such uses include funding for:

• Land, buildings, equipment, and facilities expenditures for projects

• Athletic facilities (professional and amateur)

• Public park purposes and events (including pavilions)

• Street, water, and sewer facilities improvements

• Drainage and related improvements

• General municipally owned improvements

• Any project that the EDC Board and City Council determines will contribute to the promotion or development of new or expanded business enterprises that create or retain primary jobs.
